The Bins That Empty Themselves

Case Studies

  1. Wandsworth Borough Council Field Trial

Morgan Everett has joined forces with Wandsworth Borough Council to field trial a Morgan AutoBin® specially designed to destroy residential waste at the point it is created in their council owned apartment blocks.

The trial will take place in two locations. AutoBins® will be installed in the waste chambers of two apartment blocks (one high rise, one low rise). The waste is deposited by residents via a pre-existing chute system on each floor. The waste will then drop down the chute into the waste chamber and be automatically fed into the waiting AutoBins®.

The prototype AutoBins® have been built by Main Systems Ltd and the automated waste handling systems by GEO Robson (Conveyors) Ltd.

Materials handling equipment has been installed and trials will take place during May. Installation of the AutoBins® themselves is planned to follow, with trials over the summer.

We will keep you up to date on our progress.
